Turriff Library & Information Point
Turriff Library & Information Point, located within Turriff Library, is a joint venture between Turriff Community Schools Network and Aberdeenshire Library and Information Service.
Aims
Its aim is to encourage and support lifelong learning, not only in the formal educational sense but also in the more general, informal sense of learning or taking up a new hobby or interest, and of broadening minds and horizons.
Partnership
Turriff Library & Information Point co-ordinates and disseminates information to the community of Turriff and surrounding areas, working in partnership with:
- Turriff Community Schools Network
- Aberdeenshire Library and Information Service
- Local learning and advice agencies
Facilities
The Centre consists of an open office area as a point of contact with the public and a private office complete with IT, television and video facilities ideal for small group or one-to-one meetings.
Regular Advice Sessions
- Pension Service representative is available for consultation
- First Tuesday monthly 10.00am-12.00. - The Turriff & District Citizens Advice Bureau representative is available for consultation - For appointment contact the library or Turriff & District Citizens Bureau on 01888 562495.
- Careers Scotland representative is available by appointment. Contact cards are available in the library.
Local Groups
Local groups are encouraged to make use of the Information Point so that it becomes a focal point of information in the Turriff community. The facilities are all available free of charge.
The Turriff Library & Information Point has regular slots in the timetable as do Adult Literacies, Careers Scotland and Health Promotions.
One-off visits, such as enrolment sessions or displays to heighten public awareness of issues or local organisations are welcomed too. Contact Turriff Library for further information.
