Welcome to The Archaeology Service for Aberdeenshire, Moray and Angus. We are a small team of archaeologists located within Aberdeenshire Council's Infrastructure Services, based in Aberdeen.
The Archaeology Service has the job of locating, evaluating, safeguarding, and explaining all known archaeological sites within this area.
SMR Accessibility Update April 2015
Please be advised that our Sites & Monuments Record online databases are currently undergoing a programme of maintenance to improve the quality and reliability of the system.
During this time, there may be periods when the databases are offline or the map search function is slow to load.
If you encounter an error message, please try accessing the SMR again later. If you require assistance or additional mapping information, please contact us: email@example.com
- access to the online SMRs is currently only available Monday to Friday
- the map search facility is not functioning correctly at present; it is expected to be fully operational by the end of May 2015
