Little Conval
The summit of Little Conval is crowned by the preparatory works for an elaborate defensive set-up which were never completed. Only slightly lower than Tap 0' Noth (40) the extreme altitude may have played a part in the decision to abandon this scheme.
Parts of four lines of defence have been recognised: for the most part, these consist of very slight trenches to indicate the circuit the defences would have taken. Parts of the innermost line, in particular, are slightly more advanced: this is marked by a low rubble wall, which is up to 3 m wide.
