A to Z Index:

Crathie Point, Sandend

Crathie Point, a promontory which slopes gently seaward about 1 mile NW of Sandend, is marked by a bank which has been scraped-up from a ditch either side of it. Outside this are very slight traces of a palisade trench: the interior is featureless.

½ mile to the W of Crathie Point is Findlater Castle, where the later construction of the Castle and landward outworks has effectively obscured potential earlier evidence. Please note that the castle should not be entered.
