Pictish Symbol Stones
St Peter's Church, Inveravon
Four early Pictish symbol stones.
No. 1 (from W) bears an incised crescent and V-rod, a triple disc and bar (cauldron symbol) and a mirror and single-sided comb.
No. 2 has a very fine but truncated beast's head.
On No 3 can be seen a very large disc and rectangle, an eagle and a comb and mirror.
No 4 bears a crescent and V-rod and a beast.
This group of stones is similar to those at Rhynie (56) in being incised early in the sequence of Pictish stones, and found together in a churchyard.
