Welcome to the Arts page, here you will find information about Aberdeenshire Council Arts Development Team and the Arts In Aberdeenshire.
The Aberdeenshire Council Arts Development Team work to make the arts part of the fabric of life in Aberdeenshire, to create rich and stimulating arts experiences for the people and communities, in schools, in our village halls, in the streets. Participation in the arts will enrich our lives, as individuals and as communities.

Arts Development Team
The Arts Development Team maintain the Aberdeenshirearts website which is a gateway to information about the arts in Aberdeenshire including a comprehensive What's On Guide,the latest local arts news, funding information and opportunities for artists locally and nationwide as well as contact details for the Arts Development Team.
The Aberdeenshire Council Arts Development Team works with a variety of communities to deliver the arts. The Team support artists and arts organisations in a number of ways including funding advice, training, commission research, arts project development, linking the arts to education and supporting the voluntary sector.
Arts Education
The specific focus of the Arts Education Team is to increase participation by young people in cultural activity by enhancing, developing and promoting arts and cultural activities in Aberdeenshire schools. The team works with a variety of independent artists, arts organisations and national companies to achieve this aim.
The current team has been in place since October 2006 and comprises of one full time Arts Education officer (Creative Links) and two full time Cultural Co-ordinators.

North East Folklore Archive (NEFA)
An internet resource for the study and preservation of North East Scotland's traditional music and song, and the spoken history of its people. The NEFA website features:
- Music, song, and folk culture
- Traditions of the North East communities
- Local tradition bearers

ARC Recording Studio
The studio is used as an integral part of developmental projects delivered by The Council such as The Youth Music Initiative and other community activity. The studio is situated in The North East Folklore Building within Aden Country Park Mintlaw. It is available for hire and is suitable for a wide variety of music genres in addition to the spoken word.
ARC Recording Studio is a digital recording facility specialising in acoustic music and sound for film and new media. The studio offers a 32 track digital facility based on Soundcraft, ProTools and Soundscape with 5.1 surround.

The Media Unit
The media Unit increases participation in filmmaking and access to media education across Aberdeenshire by:
- Producing educational and cultural videos
- Providing specialist advice, training and guidance
- Delivering participatory projects
The Media Unit works closely with schools and Community groups across Aberdeenshire and has an archive of material it has produced and material donated for preservation.

Artstore Leisurelend 
Artstore Leisurelend is Aberdeenshire Council's Equipment Hire Resource. The equipment is available for hire to all organisations and individuals resident in Aberdeenshire, who are involved in Sports, Arts Entertainment and Community Activities. Just click on the coloured ArtsoreLeisurelend logo to find more information.
Alternatively telephone the officers at Artstore/Leisurelend on 01467 625088. The office is open Mondays to Fridays 9am - 5pm. There is also an answer machine service.
