Aberdeenshire Visual Artists' Award Scheme

Aberdeenshire Council is committed to supporting the work of its resident artists and encouraging innovative professional practice.

Aberdeenshire Council, in partnership with the Scottish Arts Council established the Aberdeenshire Visual Artists Awards Scheme as a means of assisting individual artists with the immediate costs of researching, creating and presenting new work.

Are you a Visual Artist living in Aberdeenshire?
Do you need extra funds to explore new directions?

If so, then the Aberdeenshire Visual Artists' Award Scheme may be able to assist you. Grants of up to £1000 are available to Aberdeenshire Artists who are looking to advance their skills, undertake a new project or even take some time to research a new idea.

Final Round for Submissions 2009-10: Tuesday 16 February 2010
The Awards Panel will meet within three weeks of the deadline date and applicants will receive notification of the panel’s decision by the end of March 2010.

Successful applicants will be posted on the aberdeenshirearts.org.uk website and may be asked to sit on a panel in the future year.

Who can apply:

  • Artists resident in Aberdeenshire, working in contemporary visual arts
  • Artists who can demonstrate a commitment to their work and to advancing their skills and ideas
  • Artists of all ages

In recent years, over forty visual artists have been financially supported by the Aberdeenshire Visual Artists' Award Scheme.
