Occupational therapists

All occupational therapists hold a Bsc. or Diploma in occupational therapy and are required to be state registered with the Health Professions Council.

Occupational therapy assistants

Occupational therapy assistants support the occupational therapists in providing a service. Depending on the experience of the assistant this may include carrying out assessments.

Occupational therapy assistants are supervised on a day-to-day basis by the occupational therapists. The assistants receive training and have to regularly demonstrate their competence levels.

Some occupational therapy assistants have undergone formal training programmes such as the HNC in cccupational therapy support.

Technical assistants

Occupational therapy technical assistants are responsible for our equipment stores. This includes delivering equipment directly to peoples homes, providing instruction leaflets and ensuring equipment is maintained and replaced if faulty or damaged.
