Group of people holding handsSelf help groups provide practical and emotional support and friendship to anyone whose life has been affected by substance misuse, whether as a user, parent, carer, relative or friend.

Drugs Action

Drugs Action has been operating since 1986. It provides services to drug users and their families aimed to reduce the harm associated with drug use to the individual, family and community.

Interventions range from advice and information regarding safer drug use through to intensive work with dependent drug users and family members.

Alcohol and Drug Action teams

Alcohol and Drug Action Teams were set up by the Scottish Office to provide local strategic direction in tackling drug and alcohol problems. Teams involve senior officers from local bodies and agencies, both statutory and non-statutory.

The Aberdeenshire Alcohol and Drug Action Team is a multi-agency strategic partnership. Teams involve senior officers from local bodies and agencies, both statutory and non-statutory.
