development?
If Yes? Then a career as an Estates Surveyor
could be for you.
Aberdeenshire Council has a vast portfolio
of properties including schools, care homes,
sports centres, houses, country parks, business
parks and offices.
As an Estates Surveyor or Property
Management Assistant you would play a
central role in the procurement, management
and disposal of property.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
is one of the oldest and most respected of
high profile worldwide professions involved in
the property sector. There are two levels of
membership. As a full member of the RICS
you will be entitled to the letters MRICS/
FRICS.
As a technical member you will be
entitled to use the designation of TechRICS
after your name.
What qualifications and experience
do you need?
To qualify as a surveying technician you
will require an HNC/HND or equivalent,
together with practical training and technical assessment. On successful completion you
will become a technical member of the RICS.
To quality as a chartered surveyor you will
require a BSc (Hons) degree together with
practical training and professional competence.
On successful completion you will become a
general practice chartered surveyor.
There are a number of universities across
the UK that run suitable courses. Distance
Learning courses are also available.
Alternatively we occasionally offer
opportunities for those who want to leave
school and pursue academic training on
a day release or correspondence learning
basis. Those who choose this route will learn
through experience of practical work tasks
and by gaining knowledge through practical experience supplemented by academic
training.
Future Career Opportunities
We will give you financial support, practical
experience and mentoring as you work
towards the assessment of professional
competence and a professional qualification.
We assist trainees through accredited courses
and train graduates. In time, you will have direct
responsibility for your own project. We will help you realise
your potential.
