To provide these services we need talented

Examples of the roles include:

What qualifications and experience
do you need?
Sports & Leisure
For those who don’t wish to take the
academic training route you will need to gain
basic qualifications in skills like sports coaching,
life guarding, fitness, youth work etc.
There are a number of people within the
existing Sports Development Team who
have begun their career as Coaches and
developed to become Sports Co-ordinators
or Governing Body Development Officers.
Modular courses can be achieved through
studying and on the job training, leading to the
ISRM Supervisory Management Certificate.
Libraries & Heritage
A new entrant as a Library Assistant would
require 4 standard grades including English
and the ECDL. A Librarian would need a
degree or postgraduate diploma in Libraries
and Information studies.
A member of the professional curatorial staff
will need a bachelors degree in an appropriate
subject e.g. history, archaeology, history of
art and a post graduate degree in Museum
Studies.
Aberdeenshire Facilities run training courses
for the national pool lifeguard qualification
throughout the year.

We will give you financial support, practical
experience and mentoring as you work
towards a professional qualification. Many of
our staff members have joined our service at
