Community Based Yoga Classes

There are different types of yoga but the main one that is practised is Hatha yoga. This consists of a series of physical body postures performed in sequence, with relaxation at the end. Breathing practises are also incorporated. These can be done while performing the postures separately.

People of any age or level of fitness can do it. Even those with disabilities or the elderly can take part. It is not competitive, but is about working to your own ability. It can have positive health benefits.

Daytime and evening classes are available, some specifically for older people and usually run at your local community centre.
