Parent and Baby Groups
Many of Aberdeenshire’s community centres have baby groups, which meet regularly. Baby groups can be a great way to meet other people in you area with children of the same age. Previously groups were traditionally aimed at mothers, however now they welcome either parent as well as childminders, grandparents and other carers.
Some centres also offer breast feeding support along with opportunities to take part in other activities such as baby massage or baby yoga, which would be supported by local health visitors.
Babies don’t stay little for very long! Parents attending community centre baby groups who might be thinking of getting their own lives back on track can obtain information on local adult learning and leisure courses and classes.
Baby groups can be a foundation for lasting friendships to be made and the beginning of wider involvement in the local community.
