Tenant Handbook
The new Tenant Handbook has been prepared in consultation with Aberdeenshire Council tenants.
It includes a new section specifically dedicated to tenant participation,
which highlights and recognises the importance of tenants working in
partnership with the Council to share ideas and information, to improve
services. Tenants have the opportunity to get involved in the development
and monitoring of housing services as well as in the decision-making process that infl uences decisions made by the Council about housing and related services.
The handbook sets out our responsibilities to you as your
landlord and your responsibilities to us as a tenant.
It includes information such as:
- Who we are
- How to contact us
- Have your say – Seeking comments for Service Improvements
- Getting involved with what we do
- Your rights and responsibilities as a tenant
- How to pay your rent. (Direct Debit etc)
- What to do if you are having problems with keeping your rent up to date
- Allocation of our houses
- How the repair service works
- What to do if you have problems with a neighbour
- Keeping healthy, safe and secure in your home
You will also find information on useful contacts, our own and other.
