Haddo Regeneration Project

In 2005 the Haddo Country Park Consultative Forum was set up. The aim of the Forum was to transform Haddo Country Park, restoring its position as a premier visitor destination in Aberdeenshire and to engage the community to develop ideas for the future of the park.

The Forum includes stakeholder representation from Aberdeenshire Council, Haddo Estate, The National Trust for Scotland and the local community.

Following the succesful bid for a project planning grant from Heritage Lottery Funding "Parks for People" Derek Carter Associates were appointed through a competitive tendering process. DC Associates will facilitate and co-ordinate the implementation of the planning phases of the Haddo Country Park Regeneration Project in partnership with the stakeholders on the development of this historically important site.

DC Associates have made significant progress to date and on November 14th & 15th 2007, at Methlick and Tarves village halls respectively, held public meetings to discuss the local communities hopes, views, ideas and aspirations for the regeneration of Haddo Country Park and gather their Feedback. Both meetings were well attended with around 25-30 local people coming along.

A local community meeting (pdf 536 kb) is being held on Sunday 9th March, 2008 in the Library at Haddo House.
