The Northern Partnership
Aberdeenshire, together with Aberdeen City, Highland and The Moray Councils constitute the Northern Partnership. The Partnership also collaborates closely with the three Island Councils on areas such as strategic planning, quality assurance, research and information and training.
The Northern Partnership's status as a Pathfinder Provider is a crucial element in achieving consistent and high quality services across the four Councils. Pathfinder is a Scottish Executive initiative designed to improve the quality and effectiveness of work with offenders. To this end five key areas focus on improving Criminal Justice Social Work Services. These are:
- Committing all of its operation to the pursuit of quality
- Promoting the process of change so that it impacts on the overall culture of the organisation
- Integrating quality and effectiveness into all aspects of its operation through the implementation of effective practice principles
- Delivering front line services, programmes or projects as a key component of this bigger endeavour
- Evaluating its own performance
