Task force holds 'encouraging' first meeting to discuss support for fire-hit seafood factory

The first meeting of a multi-agency task force convened to provide support to a Peterhead fish processing factory was described as "encouraging" by senior figures today (Fri, Jan 23).


Deadline extended for Inspiring Aberdeenshire nominations

Aberdeenshire residents have a further ten days to nominate the areaís young people, communities and groups for awards recognising their talents and service. Inspiring Aberdeenshire will take place at Haddo House near Ellon in June 2015 and nominations forms will now be available on Aberdeenshire Councilís website until Saturday, January 31.


Public meeting to be held on proposed Portlethen rezoning

A public meeting will take place next week in Portlethen to give parents the chance to have their say on proposals to rezone the area's primary schools. Parents and local stakeholders are encouraged to attend the meeting at Portlethen Academy from 6-8pm on Wed, Jan 28.


School infrastructure bridges gap between town's past and future

Ellon Academy Community Campus reached a milestone this week as new infrastructure providing access to those using it was named by local community members. The new access road has been named Kellie Pearl Way and the pedestrian bridge Boatie Tam's Brig.


Final phase of Banff Bridge pier protection works resume this month

The second phase of pier base protection works on Banff Bridge will resume on Monday, January 26 and the work is expected to last five days. Poor weather conditions before Christmas caused the temporary delay.
