DVD and Music

Freegal Music gives library members, over the age of 12, free access to around nine million songs from over 28,000 labels including the Sony Music catalogue UK. Find the latest new releases, chart-toppers and happenings in the Freegal newsletter.

Stream three hours of music every day and download five music tracks (a music video uses two downloads) per week. Your weekly limit is reset every Monday so you can add more each week. Save and share on your devices and once downloaded, the songs or videos are yours to keep. Each song has a sample clip you can listen to before you download.

You will need

  • internet access
  • your library card number and PIN

This service will work on almost any computer, player, tablet or smartphone. The Freegal Music mobile app is free in the Apple® App Store and in Google® Play.

There is a huge range of DVDs for you to choose from in our libraries .

Requesting the purchase of a DVD

Due to film industry regulations Aberdeenshire Libraries buys “rental” editions of popular recently released DVDs.  These have to be ordered at a particular time each month and once supplied can not be obtained again.  For this reason it is important that any requests for recently released films should be made as early as possible.

CDs & music scores

We have a large collection of CDs in all genres. In addition we can also help locate vocal scores and orchestral sets for choirs and orchestras.

Requests to purchase a CD or DVD for library stock can be made using our online request form.
