Plaque, made of slate by H. J. Coetzer, a prisoner in Bellevue Camp, Simonstown.
Dated 19th May 1901 during the second Anglo-Boer War, this plaque carries a Star of David on the small circle and a coat-of-arms on the larger. The coat-of-arms is based on the design taken into use in 1857 at the third anniversary of the Oranje Vrij Staat (Orange Free State).
