Weather update: Flood barriers to be erected in Stonehaven
22nd December 2012
Due to rising levels in the River Carron and the continued heavy rain, Aberdeenshire Council has taken the decision to erect flood barriers in Stonehaven as a precaution.
The flood barriers were taken to Stonehaven yesterday and deployed in the town in case they were needed over the weekend.
Sandbags will be made available in the square and lower part of the town should people need them. Flood wardens are out and about in Stonehaven to offer advice to anyone who has concerns.
Aberdeenshire Council will continue to monitor the levels in the River Carron throughout the weekend.
