Season Dates

Salmon 11th February to 31st October inclusive

Brown Trout and Sea Trout 1st April to 30th September inclusive

Fishing Locations

Alford - River Don – along its right bank from Montgarrie Bridge at Alford to approx 100 metres below the confluence with the Buckie Burn, as indicated by Council markers approx 2.5 kilometres – along its left bank from Waterside Sawmill to Bridge of Alford, approx 900 metres as indicated by Council markers

Inverurie - River Ury – along its southern or right bank from its confluence with the River Don to the town boundary near Howford Bridge (on road b9001) – approx 5 kilometres.

Inverurie - River Don – along its northern or left bank from its confluence with the River Ury to Polinar Burn (approx 3 kilometres).  also along its southern or right bank from the new by-pass bridge to the old road bridge (approx 400 metres)   

Kintore - River Don – along its right and left bank from the northern to the southern boundary of the former burgh as indicated by markers,  approx 3 kilometres on the right bank with the lower marker at the Tuach Burn and approx 1 kilometre on the left bank with the lower marker approx 180 metres upstream of Kintore Bridge           

Note - The “left” and “right” is determined facing downstream. 

Permit Conditions

It is the responsibiltiy of the angler to read and adhere to the conditions for Brown Trout and for Salmon. No Fishing on Sundays except for Brown Trout on the River Ury only.

Permit Outlets

Daily, weekly and season permits for all of the fishings are available from the outlets below. A Rover Permit is also available and gives access to all four beats (two at Alford) at a special rate. A sketch map showing the fishing limits etc is available from these outlets on request.

BROWN TROUT ONLY- Daily April to September (inclusive)

Discounts for 'Catch and Release' only salmon and sea trout permits are available as follows - a reduction of £10 on season permits and from 1st June, a reduction of £5 for day permits and £10 for week permits. Concession permits at half this rate ( N.B. All reductions are including VAT).
