Imagine Ellon - Capacity Study

For some time now, Aberdeenshire Council has been working on a project titled 'Imagine Ellon'. The purpose of this study was to establish a framework for the town in light of its potential for long-term growth. To assess this potential, it has been assumed that Ellon may increase in size in the future by around 50%, in terms of population, housing stock, employment land, open space etc. It is important to note, however, that this is not an actual prediction of fact or timescale.

It is also important to recognise that this study is not in itself a plan of how to deliver growth on this scale: that will be for subsequent structure and local plans to do, using 'Imagine Ellon' as background information.

Consultation

Small exhibitions were displayed at Ellon library, Ellon Academy and at Ellon Community Education Centre.  A public meeting was held on in Ellon Community Education Centre and comments were invited both at the meeting and in writing. After this a ten week period for comments on the study was provided. The representation recieved was summarised into 81identifiable comments. These comments resulted in a number of changes to the study. You can download the comments, responses and actions here:
