Ellon Town Centre (West Side)

Study Area

This development brief identifies and promotes redevelopment opportunities within Ellon Town centre (West Side) and builds upon former studies such as the Ellon Commercial Viability Study of 2002.

Ellon is part of the Susset Project, funded through INTERREG, an EU community initiative. This brief is an example of good practice under the INTERREG project, as its preparation, process and promotion can be fed into the INTERREG system and promoted in Europe.

This development brief has been completed with contributions from the Ellon Strategy Group and was approved by the Formartine Area Committee on 5 December 2006.

Hospital Road

This Development Brief is for a large area of land to the west of central Ellon.  It is allocated in the adopted Aberdeenshire Local Plan as a Redevelopment Area.  The Development Brief allows for a mixed use development comprising housing, affordable housing and the possibility of a community facility in association with public open space and strategic landscaping.
