Local Development Plan

On 26 April 2012 Aberdeenshire Council agreed to give notice of their intent to adopt the the Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan. At this meeting they also agreed to adop the associated supplementary guidance. The date of adoption will be the 1 June 2012. The Local Development Plan will provide the local interpretation of national planning guidance, from the Scottish Government, and the Structure Plan for Aberdeen City and Shire. This decision is based on the result of an examination into representations on the plan. A copy of the Reporters report along with further information is available here.

IIn the period to 1 June 2012 Scottish Ministers will scrutinise the implementation by Aberdeenshire Council of the Report on the examination, and have the power to dictate that the Council should not adopt the plan. Following 1 June 2012 there will be an opportunity for legal challenge before the plan is constituted.

An Online Local Development Plan has now been completed, and can be viewed here. This has not yet been updated to reflect the reporters report.
