Plans and Policies
The Aberdeenshire Local Plan adopted on 30 June 2006 is part of the statutory development plan for the area.
Aberdeenshire Council are reviewing the current Local Plan and replacing it with what will be called a 'Local Development Plan'. The Local Development Plan will provide the local interpretation of national planning guidance, from the Scottish Government, and the Structure Plan for Aberdeen City and Shire.The Proposed Local Development Plan has been approved for public consultation - the consultation period will begin on 9 July 2010 and finish on the 1 October 2010.
Development PlanThe statutory development plan for Aberdeenshire consists of the Aberdeenshire Local Plan 2006 and the Aberdeen City and Shire Structure Plan 2009. Within the Cairngorms National Park, the Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Structure Plan 2001: North East Scotland Together (NEST) remains in force.
In addition to the Development Plan, Aberdeenshire Council also produces Supplementary Planning Guidance to assist applicants with aspects of planning policy.
