What is Business Rates
Business Rates, or Non Domestic Rates, is a form of local taxation in which owners,tenants or occupiers of Non-Domestic subjects make contributions towards Council funding, to enable us to provide services to the community.
Annual Charges
The amount of Business Rates you are due to pay is directly related to the Rateable Value of your property multiplied by the national rates poundage. Rateable Values are determined by the Assessor.
What Business Rates Contributes Towards
Your Business Rates contributes towards the costs of Council services provided to the community. It is not a direct charge based on usage of these services.
