Disability Sport Programme August - December 2010
Aberdeenshire Disability Sport Programme August - December 2010 is now available. There is a wide variety of activities on offer from Football, Trampolining, Table Tennis and Boccia. All sessions are delivered by qualified coaches. See programme below for activities, dates and venues which includes application form. Disability Sport Summer Programme 2010
A wide variety of activities are on offer this Summer from Ten Pin Bowling, Ice Skating, Tubing, Climbing Trampolining, Table Tennis to visits to Deeside Activity Park. See Summer Programme below for full details and application form.
Table Tennis Taster Day Saturday 12th June 2010
Come along and try table tennis at our Taster Day organised for Saturday 12th June at the Aberdeen Sports Village from 2-4pm. See attached for further details and booking form.
Disability Football
Sessions are delived by qualified coaches who will deliver a safe and fun programme adapting practices to suit individuals. Participation Centres are designed to give anyone with a disability the opportunity to play football. The Regional Squad provides the pathway to national and international player opportunities. National 7-a-side Scottish Disabiltiy Sport & Scottish FA Championships
On 15th September at Meadowmill Sport Complex, Edinburgh the Grampian Football Development Squad added the National 7-a-side Scottish Disability Sport and Scottish FA Championships to the achievements this year. They came up against tough opposition from Glasgow Abercorn, Carrongrange and South Lanarkshire. Securing 6 straight wins to reach the final against Glasgow Abercorn. With Grampian securing the victory 2-0.
The Grampian Squad players were: Gavin Rothney (Oldmeldrum), Craig Tevendale (Oldmeldrum), Andrew Raffan (Banff), Kelvin McKay (Banff), James McDonald (Inverurie), Jordan Cattanach Pitmedden), Colin Knox (Rothienorman) , Michael Mortimer (Oldmeldrum) and Daniel McIntosh (Aberdeen).
Woodland Walks for all ...Aberdeenshire
Aberdeenshire Disability Sport in partnership with Forestry Commission Scotland can offer many walks with all ability trails providing stunning views. Walks include Bennachie Visitor Centre, Cambus O'May, Glen Tanar, Bellwood and Foggieton Wood. For further information contact www.forestry.gov.uk/scotland
