Bike Ride Times

The times taken to go around the Bike course have now been posted.

If you find your name is missing from the list please contact us on leisurelend@aberdeenshire.gov.uk and we will try to recover them, we are aware that there are a few times missing due to timing chips being around wrists, in rucksacks etc, we will endevour to try to recover the vast majority of these if you can provide us with the appropriate information.

Date, Time and Place

The 22nd Great Inverurie Bike Ride is set to commence Sunday 31st August from Noon.  Aberdeenshire Council wish to carry on the great tradition of the event established by Sandy Lindsey and have taken over the organisation after 21 years.

Who can take part?

The event is for riders of all ages and abilities and is suitable for the whole family, as well as individuals.

Entry Fee

Every participant is asked to pay a £10 entry fee. This covers the cost of running the event which this year includes a chip timing system allowing the more competitive riders to time their ride accurately and provide a list of results. This is also a valuable safety check. Your T shirt and refreshments throughout the ride are also included in the entry fee. Every penny of what you raise in sponsorship will go to the nominated charities.

Gala Attractions and Refreshments

Monymusk will again be welcoming the Bike Ride by hosting their annual Gala on the day. As well as stalls and fairground attractions there will be lots of opportunities for refreshments including a BBQ, Strawberry Cream Teas and lots of home produce. The Spectrum Singers will be providing musical entertainment. This is an ideal place for non riders to meet up with riders at the halfway point and enjoy some rest and relaxation. Profits from the Gala go to village groups such as the play group, After School club, PTA and Village Hall.

There will also be a BBQ at the finish point in Kellands Park - all profits to go to the BBQ organisers choice of charity which is this year an orphanage in Malawi.
