Location and Car Parking
From Aberdeen, follow signs for Inverurie At the end of the dual carriageway, turn right at the round about heading for Inverurie and Oldmeldrum.
On following the road through Inverurie you will arrive at another roundabout at this one turn left, follow this to the mini roundabout turn left here again onto Victoria Street. The Swimming Pool is 150m along this road on your left. The Car Park is adjacent to the Swimming Pool where there is ample parking.
Transition Area
The transition area is set up in the bus park at Inverurie Academy.
This means that there is about a 150m run to reach your bike.
There will be a coned off area for you to run down. The run to the transition area is on tarmac and it is advised that you wear footwear for this section. Footwear may be left outside the swim exit on the pavement. All other clothing should be left at the Transition area.
Sections
Swim Section - All
Inverurie Pool is 25m, 4-lane pool allowing heats of 20 swimmers. Sprint distance is 30 lengths. The start is at the Shallow end of the pool. The swim exit is out through the changing area.
Cycle section - All

Run with your bike from the transition area to the mount / dismount line, witch is situated at the speed hump.
Turn right on to Victoria Street and follow the road round until you come to a Mini-Roundabout and turn left onto Blackhall Road. Continue along Blackhall Road until you come to a roundabout, go straight ahead here passing the Police Station, on passing the Police Station you will come to the A96 and Blackhall Roundabout. At this point when entering the roundabout you must be aware that you are crossing the main A96 (Extra care must be taken here). Take the 2nd exit on this roundabout and head out passing Andersons. Continue along this road to the roundabout and go straight on, then continue along the road for about 1km to Dubston and turn right.
Keep going along this road which is an uphill section and you will come to a sweeping right hand corner with a fast decent to Balquhan Mains. At this T Junction turn left and follow this road into Chapel of Garioch where you will bear left. The next section is an 8km undulating stretch of road, which you should remain on until Delab Junction. Turn left and after a 50m track turn left again passing the Sir Arthur Grant Outdoor Centre, remain on this road until you see the signs and Junction for Burnhervie & Inverurie here you should bear Left. Continue along this road going through Burnhervie (taking care at the narrow bridge) until you reach Polinair Dam. The road here sweeps round to the right and this corner should be taken slowly as it is also downhill. Once you have passed Polinair Dam continue on this road back to Inverurie until it joins the main road through Inverurie where you turn left at the roundabout. Cycle through Inverurie until you reach Craigdon Sports where you will turn left George Square. Follow this road which bears right onto Kellands road until your next right turn which you should take turning into Westfield Road, follow this road until you see the entrance to the Transition area.
Run Section – All

After racking your bike exit transition area and turn left along the pavement on between the houses and the transition area. Follow the footpath until you reach Kellands Road. At the Marshall cross over the road, Once you have crossed the road continue along the pavement crossing Selbie Drive before entering Kellands Park where you will run 4 Laps before retracing your steps to the finish which is situated at the end of the lane.
