Welcome to the Registrars
section. These pages contain details of the 12 full-time and 3 part-time offices within Aberdeenshire.
All provide registration guidance and can also assist you with arrangements for your ceremony, be it a marriage, civil partnership, naming ceremony or renewal of vows ceremony. Many are multi- function and assist various departments within the council.
Some Offices hold burial ground records, which combined with the registration records are a good source of material for family historians. Their knowledge of their own area provides an additional wealth of information.
Registrars at our full-time offices have access to the digital images of all births, deaths and marriages from 1855 to 2006, censuses from 1841 to 1901 and Old Parish Record's.
This allows extracts of any birth death or marriage, which took place in Scotland within this period to be printed at these offices. It may also help with family history searches but please contact the registrar and arrange an appointment.
