Temporary Road Closures and Restrictions
Current Road Closures and Restrictions
Traffic restrictions can be implemented by us using a temporary traffic measure.The most common forms of restrictions are:
- Temporary road closures
- Temporary speed limits
These are usually required to facilitate roadworks.
Other forms of temporary traffic restrictions include:
- One Way
- Prohibition of Waiting
- Weight limit
Road closures may also be required for local gala events or public gatherings.
Alternative traffic routes are identified for temporary road closures.
The granting of a temporary road closure to a contractor does not waive the requirement for other permits (e.g. road opening permit).
Apply for a Temporary Restriction
Anyone wishing to apply for a temporary restriction should return the completed application form to the relevant roads office.
