Childcare strategy training

Our childcare strategy offers core training to all early learning and childcare staff across Aberdeenshire, through professional learning courses and accredited training qualifications.

Training and qualifications

We offer a number of different professional learning opportunities that will support you to provide best practice in your early learning and childcare work place, either as a member of staff (or in certain circumstances as a volunteer). We also offer funding for a number of accredited qualifications that will enable you to fulfill your Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration conditions and which may also enable you to progress in the sector (appropriate to your job role).

All our professional learning courses take account of national and local policies and priorities. For example, they take account of the national daycare standards, pre-birth to three guidance, curriculum for excellence and the new practice guidance on early learning and childcare: building the ambition.

The principles, values and guidance set out in Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) that children should be: safe, healthy, achieving, nurtured, active, respected, responsible and included will also be the expected benchmark for all services provided to children in Aberdeenshire.
