Continual Professional Development workshops for Swimming Teachers and Coaches
The following workshops are available to book. These are run through the North District Education Committee and each candidate will gain 1 CPD point per hour of attendance. Each workshops lasts for 3 hours and the cost is £20 per candidate. All workshops are accredited with Scottish Swimming (except **) and candidates will be registered for 3 CPD points per workshop.

UKCC Level 1 and 2 courses for Teachers and Coaches
Course description:
Level 1 Teaching Aquatics
The Level 1 Certificate for Teaching Aquatics is an all inclusive qualification that sits as the first
formally assessed qualification on the teaching qualifications pathway.
Once qualified the holder of the Level 1 Certificate for Aquatic Teaching is able to actively support
a more senior qualified / licensed aquatic teacher at any level, in the delivery of a pre-prepared
session. This person will be expected to have an understanding of the aquatic and a basic
understanding of appropriate correction to common aquatic faults.
Level 2 Teaching Aquatics
The Level 2 Certificate for Teaching Aquatics is an all inclusive qualification and sits as the second
formally assessed qualification on the teaching qualifications pathway.
Once qualified the holder of the Level 2 Certificate for Teaching Aquatics is able to plan, deliver
and evaluate a series of six consecutive sessions within the context of a scheme of work also
prepared by themselves.
Level 1 Coaching Swimming
The Level 1 Certificate for Coaching Swimming sits as the first formally assessed qualification on
the coaching qualifications pathway.
To actively support a more senior qualified / licensed swimming coach, at any level, in the delivery
of a pre-prepared coached session. This person will be expected to have an understanding of
speed swimming techniques, a basic understanding of appropriate corrections to common faults
and be able to deliver a series of effective training sets.
Level 2 Coaching Swimming
The Level 2 Certificate for Coaching Swimming sits as the second formally assessed qualification on
the coaching qualifications pathway.
Once qualified the holder of the Level 2 Certificate for Coaching Swimming is able to plan, deliver and
evaluate a series of six consecutive sessions within the context of a macro cycle prepared by a
senior/licensed coach.
