Aberdeenshire Unemployment Still Below 1%

Over the second quarter of 2008, Aberdeenshire’s unemployment rate (claimant count) fell by 8.0%. This represents an decrease of 91 claimants from 1,143 in March 2008 to 1,052 in June 2008.

The unemployment rate remains very low at 0.7%, the lowest the lowest of all Scottish Local Authorities.

The rate for Scotland remained constant at 2.3%, slightly higher than the UK rate of 2.2%.
