Legislation
Officers carry out visits to trade premises such as shops, factories and licensed premises, to ensure they are complying with the criminal law.
Initially advice and assistance is offered to businesses to help them comply. However for more serious offences, or where the law is persistently breached, we can report traders to the Procurator Fiscal for prosecution.
