MetalMatters Campaign Launch Event, Friday 25th May

Come along to the launch event outside M & S in Aberdeen for the MetalMatters Campaign this Friday between 10.00am and 12.30pm and find out why it is so important to recycle household metal packaging. The campaign, funded by industry body Alupro and Zero Waste Scotland, aims to increase metal recycling in Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City. Staff from both councils and from Alupro will be on hand to give information and answer questions and there will be a comptetition and goodies to give away.

 

Fraserburgh Recycling Point temporarily removed

The Recycling Point at the Co-op, Albert Street, Fraserburgh has been removed temporarily. Due to the building of the new store, the Co-op have lost most of their car parking spaces therefore cannot accommodate the Recycling Point at this time. The Recycling Point will be returned to this site once the building work has completed (approximately December 2012). Please use alternative Recycling Points in Fraserburgh or visit the Household Waste Recycling Centre at Anderson Place.

 

Recycling On The Go

New recycling containers are to be installed in five communities across Aberdeenshire to make it easier for people to recycle on the go.

Residents living in Aboyne, Banff, Ellon, Inverurie and Stonehaven will all benefit from the scheme, which will see bins for cans and plastic bottles installed in various locations in the towns to make recycling more accessible during normal daily activities. Full story...

 

Temporary Garden Waste facilities

The seasonal extra garden waste recycling points provided by Aberdeenshire Council at seven locations are to reopen soon.  The first day of operation will be Saturday 21st April at each site.

Residents are also able to recycle their garden waste free of charge throughout the rest of the year at our Household Waste and Recycling CentresAlternatively, they might like to find out more about home composting and other ways to reduce garden waste on our Composting and Garden Waste pages.

 

Small Electrical Appliance Recycling Banks trial

Two new electrical appliance recycling banks have been installed in Port Elphinstone and Insch as part of a trial to allow people to recycle small items such as irons, radios, hairdryers and clocks more easily. Full story...

 

Aluminium foil and tray collection

Aberdeenshire Council is now able to accept aluminium foil and food trays for collection, along with food and drink cans. Please clean the trays, removing any food residue that might cause contamination, then place them in your black recycling box or take to your nearest Recycling Point or Centre and place in the food and drink can container.
