Composting and Garden Waste
Composting
Using a Home Composter at home is a sustainable way of dealing with organic waste from your home and garden. You can compost food waste as well as garden waste.
You can use a Green Cone Food Digester to compost most food waste and a small amount of garden waste. Both are available at a discount to Aberdeenshire residents and both provide free nutrition to your garden while reducing the amount of waste going to landfill.
Recycle at your HWRC
Householders can recycle garden waste free of charge at HWRCs (Household Waste & Recycling Centres). Please check the lists to make sure your HWRC accepts garden waste.
