Campaigns

Aberdeenshire Council runs Waste Aware Aberdeenshire campaigns locally and shares a regional Waste Aware Grampian campaign with Aberdeen City Council and the Moray Council. Both campaign streams are part of the national Waste Aware Scotland campaign to help protect the environment by encouraging everyone to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle waste instead of sending it to landfill.
Room to Recycle Campaign 2010
The Room to Recycle campaign was designed to run mainly as press advertisements and encourage awareness of the recyclable items around the home, where and how to recycle them and what happens to them after recycling. It also aimed to encourage reference to this website for waste reduction, reuse and recycling information.
Handy Hints 2008 Campaign
£410 in your pocket or in your bin?
That was the question accompanying the 2008 Handy Hints campaign mailshot of 11 Handy Hints to Aberdeenshire households, providing simple, practical tips on more effective ways to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
The £410 question refers to Handy Hint number 11 about food waste.
The 11 hints were designed to fit the Waste Aware Guide. Here, you can download larger A4 versions of each Handy Hint to read and file or use as posters.
