The rollout of new recycling collection services is coming to the Kincardine and Mearns area in March 2015.

Christmas Collections

Christmas and New Year's Day fall on aThursday this year. As a result of this, there will be some disruption to your normal service.

Affacted households should look out for a postcard in the mail explaining the changes to your normal collections and recycling centre opening times over the festive period.


If you would like to book a Special Uplift of bulky items, buy a Wheeled Refuse Bin, request a free Recycling Container for Recycling, report a Missed Collection or a problem relating to litter or street cleansing please call the Wasteline.

It's Your Neighbourhood

Two Aberdeenshire groups have registered to support the non-competitive "It’s Your Neighbourhood" initiative, run by Keep Scotland Beautiful in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society’s (RHS) Britain in Bloom campaign.

Temporary Garden Waste Recycling Facilities

Temporary Garden Waste Facilities have restarted for the season at various locations and times throughout Aberdeenshire. The service will continue until early November.

Recycling banks available for small electrical appliances at Port Elphinstone and Insch

Convenient places to take small electrical items for recycling in addition to Household Waste Recycling Centres.


Changes to Council refuse and recycling arrangements

Changes to the way that waste and recycling are collected were approved at a full meeting of Aberdeenshire Council on Thursday 17 January. The new scheme is designed to help the council meet the Scottish Government’s Zero Waste targets.
