The rollout of new recycling collection services is coming to the Huntly, Insch, Alford and Upper Donside areas of Aberdeenshire, starting 12th May.

If you would like to book a Special Uplift of bulky items, buy a Wheeled Refuse Bin, request a free Recycling Container for Recycling, report a Missed Collection or a problem relating to litter or street cleansing please call the Wasteline.

Public holiday arrangements, Good Friday

If you live in Blackburn, Alford or Pitmedden and your recycling box collection is due this Friday, 18th April, it will not be collected due to the bank holiday. All households affected were left a postcard on the last collection with this information. We're sorry we cannot provide a service in these areas on that day. Our Household Waste and Recycling Centres will be open as usual, our recycling points may also be used and we will also pick up extra recycling from any suitable container on your next scheduled collection. Temporary Garden Waste Recycling Facilities

Ttemporary Garden Waste Facilities will restart for the season from Saturday 19 April 2014 at various locations and times throughout Aberdeenshire.


New recycling and food waste collections

New recycling and food waste collection services have now started in the north of Aberdeenshire and will be rolled out to all areas through till Spring 2015.


Aberdeenshire Council supports the Clean Up Scotland campaign with Clean Up Aberdeenshire

Clean Up Scotland is the new national campaign led by Keep Scotland Beautiful, that started in 2013. It will be a year-round mass-engagement campaign that aims to encourage one million people to get involved in a whole number of ways.

Recycling banks available for small electrical appliances at Port Elphinstone and Insch

Convenient places to take small electrical items for recycling in addition to Household Waste Recycling Centres.


Changes to Council refuse and recycling arrangements

Changes to the way that waste and recycling are collected were approved at a full meeting of Aberdeenshire Council on Thursday 17 January. The new scheme is designed to help the council meet the Scottish Government’s Zero Waste targets.
