Making sure containers are empty and washed before recycling eliminates any waste at reprocessing plants. It also protects our crews, who have to hand-sort recycling collected at the kerbside.
You do NOT need to spend time removing labels from cans, bottles or jars - these are burnt off during reprocessing. Emptying and washing is much more important.
When to Recycle Glass Bottles and Jars?
Collections take place every second week if you stay in an Urban Community. Find out which day of the week your FORTNIGHTLY Recycling is collected by downloading a Fortnightly Collection Calendar.
If you are in the Weekly Recycling Trial area, your recycling collection is on the same day each week.
If you stay in a Rural Community that is not part of the Weekly Recycling Trial area, please take your recycling to your nearest Household Waste and Recycling Centre or Recycling Point.
