Wheeled Refuse Bins should only be used for residual waste that cannot be Reduced, Reused, Recycled or Composted, thus ensuring we are all working towards meeting the targets set by the European Union and Scottish Government.

 

Collection Calendars and Collection Day and Week

You can download your Refuse and Recycling Collection calendars from the Waste Aware Guide page of this website. You can check your collection day and week, for both refuse and recycling, by using our Local Information Interactive Map.

 

 

Collection Times

The map below indicates when your Refuse Bin should be put out for collection:

• Blue Area (North Aberdeenshire): 6:30am
• Green Area (Central & South Aberdeenshire): 7:30am

 

Buying a Wheeled Refuse Bin:

The price of a new or replacement Wheeled Refuse Bin is updated annually on our Special Uplifts and Charges page.

Buying Bins from a third party offers no guarantee that the bin is compatible with our lifting equipment and therefore no guarantee of collection.

Moving House or New Houses: Householders moving into a property that does not have a Wheeled Refuse Bin will be required to purchase their own and should be aware that any bin purchased must be EN840 approved

 

Discounted New or Replacement Refuse Bins:

We offer a discounted price for refuse bins in cases of financial hardship. This discount applies to the purchase of new bins (where you are buying a bin for a property that does not already have one) AND where a bin is lost due to theft or criminal damage. In both cases, you qualify for a discounted replacement refuse bin only if you are in receipt of:

• Council Tax Benefit
  OR
• Housing Benefit

If your bin has been stolen or vandalised, you will also need to report this to Grampian Police. Please use the NON-EMERGENCY number, 0845 600 5700, listed on their web page if you call them, NOT 999, which is for emergencies only.

If you qualify for a discount, please see the current price on our Special Uplifts and charges page. Advance payment is required in all cases.

If you qualify for a discounted refuse bin, you also qualify for a discount on the cost of a Special Uplift of bulky waste.
