Using the Webcam
Click the live view tab to see the live stream from the camera. You can take control of the camera by selecting a view from the drop down menu and clicking the "Change View" button. This version of the viewer requires Flash. Check if you have the Flash viewer.
To save a snapshot of the live view to your own computer click the "Save snapshot" link. Choose to save the file on your computer.
You can view and save a larger snapshot of the live view by clicking the "Hi-res snapshot" link. Once the image has loaded you can choose to save this image by right clicking the image and choosing save image as.
If you would like to send an image to a friend click the "Email snapshot" link. This will bring up a short form to fill in. Type in your name, email and your friend's email with a message. Your message will be sent along with the snapshot.
You can view a gallery of 25 images taken every hour by clicking the "Recent Images " tab. You can click on a smaller image to view a larger version of that image.
Click the "View live video" link to stream live video from the camera. Your browser may prompt you about an ActiveX install or for you to get Java please see our help guide for more information.
If you come across an interesting image while viewing the live webcam then please use the "email a snapshot" link and send it to webmaster@aberdeenshire.gov.uk
If you have problems viewing the live streaming camera please use our basic version which auto updates every 60 seconds.

Internet Explorer
Initially the page will display the webcam using Flash. You can click the "View live video" link to display a faster video stream. If you use Internet Explorer the page will ask if you want to download the Network Webcams mpeg Control. This is an ActiveX plugin to display the live video feed from the camera. Only install ActiveX controls from websites you trust. You may get one of the warnings shown below choose to install the ActiveX control.


On some computers you may need to have admin rights to install the plugin, if you don't you may get this warning:
If you do get this warning you can use the "No image? Try this viewer" link to switch to a viewer that uses the Flash plugin. Check if you have the Flash viewer.![]()
Firefox, Netscape, Mozilla

The BBC has a great website that explains some of the jargon mentioned above it's called BBC Webwise. You can search for terms that you want to learn more about such as Flash or Java.
