The Archaeology Service maintains the Sites and Monuments Record, more commonly referred to as the SMR, for Aberdeenshire, Angus and Moray Councils.
These databases have over 30,000 records that can be searched by the public. They range from the well-known to less obvious landscape features.
The quality of our 208km of beaches has been recognised by Keep Scotland Beautiful Seaside Awards. with 6 holding rural award status and three having resort award status.
