Job support scheme
The Job Support Scheme is designed to protect viable jobs in businesses who are facing lower demand over the winter months due to COVID-19, to help keep their employees attached to the workforce. The scheme will open on 1 November 2020 and run for 6 months and replaces the previous Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. View further information about the Job Support Scheme.
This scheme will close on 31 October, 2020.
Under the Coronavirus Jobs Retention Scheme, all UK employers will be able to access temporary support to continue paying part of their employees’ salary for those employees that would otherwise have been laid off during this crisis.
Please note that this scheme is not being administered by local authorities.
