Advice for businesses on key worker arrangements - Coronavirus
As we transition out of lockdown, the council recognises that increasingly, people will be returning to work throughout the various phases of the Scottish Government route map. We previously worked carefully with public and private sector partners, and business and industry representative groups to agree a list of key workers providing essential services in the coronavirus response. We continue to liaise closely with those partners and groups as the pandemic progresses to ensure our stance meets the needs of key workers. The council's position remains that only key workers will be eligible to request childcare provision in Aberdeenshire’s network of childcare hubs and places will be prioritised based on key worker status by category.
As per advice from the Scottish Government, employers are encouraged to support their employees and be considerate and flexible on working patterns, and to bear in mind that not everyone will have readily available access to childcare during these unprecedented times. Where possible, staggered start times and flexible working should be implemented, and home working should remain the default position for those whose roles allow them to do so.
