Business rates: Discretionary Sports Club Relief
Discretionary relief may be awarded if premises are occupied for the purpose of a club, society or other organisation not established or conducted for profit, such as a sports club, and which is wholly or mainly used for the purpose of recreation.
Registered Community Amateur Sports Clubs may also apply for 80 percent rates relief. This is only if the property is mostly used by that club or other registered community amateur sports clubs.
Licensed Sports clubs and clubs who hold unrestricted funds in excess of £100,000 will only be eligible for relief up to a maximum of 80 percent.
