As usual, there will be strict rules to be followed by all local authority employees in the run-up to, and during, the UK Parliament General Election. These rules are focused primarily on publicity and the use of council buildings and resources.
The tighter rules around council publicity come into effect on Friday 5 May 2017, with the publication of the Notice of Election and the commencement of the formal pre-election period.
