The route map to 2030 and beyond (PDF 1.19MB) sets out the council’s plan for reaching our long-term climate and sustainability goals, defined in our climate change declaration (PDF 71KB).

It explains the key activities, targets, and recommendations that guide our work, and includes a transformation map showing the actions and timescales needed to deliver progress. The report also includes future carbon budgets to help us measure and manage emissions reductions over time.

Action plan

The route map to 2030 and beyond action plan (PDF 216KB) was approved in February 2024. The action plan lists the specific projects, timescales, and responsibilities that will help achieve the goals set out in the route map.
