Eigie House Balmedie.jpgEigie House sheltered housing scheme is situated in the coastal village of Balmedie.

The scheme has 32 one bedroom  and two two bedroom self-contained flats.

The flats have fitted kitchens, central heating and double glazing. They are all fitted with door entry systems and are connected to the community alarm system.

Facilities at the scheme include:

  • a communal lounge
  • communal laundry

There is one guest bedroom available for use by relatives or friends who don't live locally.

Regular social activities can be facilitated by the Sheltered Housing Officer which includes:

  • afternoon tea
  • knit and natter
  • bingo
  • bowling
  • Friendship club
  • games
  • coffee mornings

Balmedie is just north of the city of Aberdeen and is a rapidly growing village. Village facilities include a small library, convenience stores and shops, a hotel and a primary school. Balmedie has a flat, sandy blue flag beach with sand dunes to the rear of the beach.
