The scheme has 22 one bedroom and three two bedroom self-contained flats. All the flats are connected to the community alarm system.

Facilities at the scheme include:

  • a communal lounge
  • communal laundry

There is one guest bedroom available for use by relatives or friends who don't live locally.

Regular social activities can be facilitated by the Sheltered Housing Officer which includes:

  • afternoon tea
  • games
  • film shows
  • Church services
  • lunches
  • entertainment

Blackburn is a rapidly growing commuter town just northwest of Aberdeen. Local facilities include a local shop, Post Office, a community hall, small primary school and an industrial estate.
